Navdeep Friary and St. Peter's School and Junior College, Nanpara, UP

Nanpara is a backward place in UP district.....the development is taking place very rapidly....the people here are mostly farmers.....they grow rice, wheat and other vegetables.....this area produces potatoes in good quantity....this is the season.....we can see trucks full of potatoes lined up in front of the cold storage......the prices are very low....
The Capuchin friars came here about 22 years ago......to start an English medium school.....the friars have worked hard to bring up the school.....it is a rural area.....the children have to be collected from the villages.....there are 6 buses which go round to collect the children.....

The school has 1500 students from KG to XII standard....

A small chapel which serves for 8 families......including some teachers......

The Franciscan sisters help the friars to teach in the school

There are four friars....all of them engaged in school ministry.....

i visited some of the class rooms....the students are writing their final exams....

Most of the children are non-christians and their parents are very happy with the school....

friars cultivate paddy and wheat....a lot vegetables grown.....all the friars work during their free time...
