Feast of St. Martino

A saint who is known for his great conversion and dedicating his life God totaly. a man who lived his faith and shared it with others. A champion of the poor, he is still a model for many  who follow him. Let us pray to him and ask through his intercession that many may convert themselves to God and do the Will of the Father.

I celebrated the Holy Eucharist and after the Gospel a short homily i preached on the first reading on the book of wisdom which spoke about the spirit of Wisdom. it should lead us to live godly lives, listen to His Voice and do His will. I shared an experience about a Protestant Man who was in his early 70 was visiting the sick in the hospitals of town. He would narrate to them the Bible stories in order that they would forget their sorrows and pain. he did for a number of years with joy and with missionary spirit. One fine day he did not appear in hospitals and for six months he disappeared. no one knoew about his whereabouts. After six months he returned so the doctors asked as to where he had been. He said that as he is getting old and losing his sight he knew that he would become blind and then he will not be able to read out Bible stories to sick people. So decided to retire in silence and memorize the Bible by heart. He did it and carried him mission of narrating stories to the sick which gave them peace and happiness.
