- As Capuchin Franciscan, St. Francis is inviting us to live the Gospel, to ponder and find direction for creating fraternal relationship, where each is respected and valued for their unique person and contribution.
- To accept and be aware of the situation around us.
- Take Jesus as a great model, who took the side of the poor and marginalized by being with them.
- Be in solidarity with the poor
-
Solidarity should be made visible. Being with people should be seen by others in action
and contemplation
-
Not concentration too much on doing but on being with
people.
-
Being in modern technological world, it should not allow us
compromise with Gospel values but need to insert and spread around the same.
-
Need to create self awareness among ourselves about the Franciscan values and charism.
-
Our giving to others should pain and hurt us
-
Live the compassionate love in the evil situations
-
There is hunger among us to be important and this
hunger should not drive us to forget the needs and problems of the poor.
-
Should not fail us to hear the cry of the poor because
of our hunger for status and power
-
We need mission orientation for creating fraternal
relationships
-
Do not institutionalize ourselves while inserting among
the poor
-
Build up people and grant them social security rather
than worry about our security
-
Jesus and Francis were minors and itinerant so follow
them
-
Life of Minority characterized by – don’t think of
security
-
be effective
-
be spiritual but not ruling out the social and pastoral
life
-
maintain ordinary standards which are effective
-
incarnate and contextualize the Gospel
-
Live not away
from poor but amidst them
-
For Francis doing was not of primary importance but
rootedness in Christ
-
Conviction that God has chosen us and live this out in
the concrete situations by following Christ to be deeply rooted in Chris
-
to be minors
-
“brothers and sisters so far we have done little but let us now onwards do more”
-
Brothers and sisters I have done my part, may God
inspire to do yours”
-
Be person orientated
-
Be God centered so that we become person centered
-
Contemplate Christ in our over activeness
-
Be faithful to the Rule
-
Stand up for truth, speak up and defend the weak
-
Stand for God and his values in order to speak against
the existing evils
-
Conversion – from self-centeredness to God centeredness
