Visit to Adoration Monastery of Sr. Clare in Nagercoill

Indian celebrates her 68th Independence day. All the institutions hoist the flag and sing the national anthem. Here in the Novitiate the novices and the candidates of the Carmelite sisters organized program on the occasion of the Independence. Speeches in various languages were delivered by the candidates. The speeches highlighted todays India and the need of India. They also touched women's issues and poverty. it was nice to hear the candidates voicing out against the political leaders who are dividing the Indian society.
I hoisted the flag.
The Eucharist was celebrated by me on the occassion of the feast of Assumption and Independence day.
The Brothers singing lovely hymns to Mother Mary
The young candidates for the carmalite sisters. They have five provinces and their formation houses are together. These candidates are from all over India and they mingle and mix up very well.....

Malcolm Sequeira capuchin friar from Karnantaka who is now in srilanka has his eldest sister in the Monastery. she is about 80 but hale and hearty. she was happy to know that Br.
