Jesus Calls sinners to be his disciples......

Gospel: MK 2: 13-17
When Jesus went out again beside the lake, a crowd came to him and he taught them. As he walked along, he saw a tax collector sitting in his office. This was Levi, the son of Alpheus. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” And Levi got up and followed him.

And it so happened that while Jesus was eating in Levi’s house, tax collectors and sinners were sitting with him and his disciples for there were indeed many of them. But there were also teachers of the Law of the Pharisees’ party, among those who followed Jesus, and when they saw him eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, “Why! He eats with tax collectors and sinners!”
Jesus heard them and answered, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor, but sick people do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”

When an infamous person becomes rich or well known, normally the eyebrows of some people go up. Why God allows these to prosper while we work hard and sincere, never receive what we ask for.....But we forget that God ways are not our ways. He knows the needs of the world and each one of us. He knows us from in and out.

There is nothing that He does not know about us. Jesus knew the pulse of the people at that time and even now. He grants and gives to us according to our needs. sometimes he surprises us when we are not even worthy or in a state of sinfulness. It has happened to me when i did not expect nor even dreamt of having it....i have got it. I thank God for my being chosen as his follower and His priest.

I don't think any one of us worthy to be what we are. I always think of those who are million times better that us. Who are more human and holy.....yet suffering in the world....but the Lord has a different plan for them. He calls each one of us according to capability and capacity, according to our state and being....but he never leaves us the same but changes and transforms us.....example of Levi....a different person who allows the Lord to re-fashion and re-make him.

But levi had to sacrifice many things in his life....our problem is that we want graces and blessings from the Lord without even lifting a finger or even a drop of sweat......we want everything at the drop of a hat....at our beck and call.....Let us give up something for the Lord.....Let make someone smile .....let us cheer up with our person......
