ST. FRANCIS ASHRAM, PARISH AND SCHOOL, BATALA, PUNJAB

 founded in 1970 in a rented house today it has grown to be a big educational institute which has almost 3000 students. There is a parish which has about 300 Catholic families with many villages.
 The teachers and students are mostly Sikh, hindus and Catholics.....there are sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary are collaborating with the friars.
 These are dances of Punjab....they are all upbeat dances and everyone enjoys them....dance is called Bhnagara....
 Today there are 3 friars working in the school and parish....a wonderful collaboration between the school and parish....the sisters are also helping in the pastoral work....

 Punjabi girls are talented and intelligent.....they participate in very activity of the school....

 A parish church which is practically packed on sundays....the faithful come from villages walking the distance may be 5-6km
