St. Francis Theologate, Kartarpur, Punjab

I began the visitation in the morning with the Eucharistic celebration in the Parish church. In this community there are 5 Theology students and four friars. The student friars attend the Diocesan Seminary which is about 15Km away. The students everyday are driven by a vehicle and brought back by the same vehicle. One of our friars is on the staff in the seminary as a spiritual father. The seminary has about 100 students from various north Indian dioceses.
This is the Parish Church run by our friars....these Catholics are all punjabi speaking...very devout and faithful Catholics...

The missionaries from our Kerala provinces who worked hard and toiled to spread the good news in this part of India....they are all buried here....good number of them. May their soul rest in peace. The present generation of Capuchins are tasting the fruits of their hard work and labour
A small chapel in the friary for the brothers to pray....in the morning they pray along with the parishioners and in the evening the community prays here....

The community....rector, vice rector and spiritual father Jose who stays in the seminary but is the member of the community...
There is a provincial house of FCC sisters who are Franciscans....they have a big school too...I celebrated Mass this morning...special welcome and huge breakfast....i am enjoying the North Indian especially Punjabi delicacies....oh the food is simply yummy and tasty....the Chappatis and Parothas are the most popular thing along with chicken tikka...
