SEVASADAN FRIARY,PALLIKUM

This friary is in Kannor city around 4 km away from the Provincial Curia. It is a ministry house. From here the friars operate the Trust and other ministries. The friary has around 3acres of Land well cultivated and used. This is heaven on earth as it is all green with coconut trees and other vegetation. The friary is surrounded by non christians and they are all very cordial and friendly with the friars. The friars participate in their festivals and other celebrations.
This is their oratory where the friars pray....every day all the three friars go round for the masses in the convent and the home for destitute which is run by the CAPS AND DASS trust....it is a wonderful ministry carried out by the capuchins. The chapel is really conducive for prayer as the place is very silent and quite...you can hear the birds of different kind singing and chirping whole day....its a festival for our ears....
The land is not very fertile, the friars are putting in new mud......
Capuchins love animals.....the rabbits....are loved and also give little income for the friars...
Friars Jose, is the Guardian and Managing trustee, Joby is the youngest and looks after the farm....a friar with smile....and Friar Iscaria, ex-provincial, doing wonderful work promoting peace in the area....he is involved with Gandhian people who work for peace. He goes around in the schools and colleges conducting awareness programs. Its been going on for last five years and it has future....he is well accepted by all the religions....he is invited by them for their functions too...Iscaria has already received two awards for his work and efforts to promote peace....well done brother...keep it up.....

Franciscans will go any extent to procure one Damiana cross...Br. Iscaria has a friend who paints the Daminana cross....which look so original to that of Assisi....for prayer and meditation it is a wonderful Cross to have in the chapel...
This morning i celebrated the Mass and concluded the visitation....yesterday afternoon i met all three friars in common and then individually, In the evening an hour of adoration, thanking the Lord for his manifold blessings on these three friars.....doing a lot of work.....after the supper we once again gathered for concluding remarks.....
The friary is small but beautiful....nice and cozy rooms......it rained last night, thundering and lightening ......after many years i was hearing the hindering....it woke me up with a fright....but happy to see the lightening which gladdened my soul and heart......Monsoon is expected to be from 1st June but these are pre-monsoon showers,,,temperatures are coming down....
You can see the coconut trees all around.....green.....
