Fraternal Collaboration: By Br. Clayton Fernandes

This topic was handled by Br. Jean Bertin who has been nominated Bishop of Lolo in his country. Br. Clayton was asked to present this topic on fraternal collaboration. He did a good job of presenting. He did it as he is was part of the fraternal collaboration. He quoted his personal experiences. It was well presented.

ü  There are directions given by the general chapter
ü  There are reasons mentioned by this fraternal collaboration
ü  It is regulated by the documents
ü  The steps have to be followed by the collaborating provinces
ü  Every brother belongs to the Order….in collaboration the friars must feel this missionary spirit…it is not the province should bind us but our charism must push us into the collaboration

ü  Collaboration is expression of our charism and brotherhood
ü  My brothers need so it is my need – collaboration arises
ü  There is no higher and lower in collaboration
ü  We all have a purpose to strengthen our charism
ü  To bear witness to who we are and live the charism
ü  We live by our examples
ü  Requisites of the collaborations: for the province that receives, provinces that sends and the friars who would be sent
ü  Consentiz  the receiving friars why the collaboration
ü  Friars to be trained and motivated

ü  Money is not the issue, no business involved in fraternal collaboration
