Preparing for the Chapter of Mats in CCMSI

The General council has decided to celebrate a chapter of Mats in CCMSI, India just like the one celebrated in Fatima Portugal. The preparations are on. The commission of four friars here in the curia met this morning to discuss the agenda and to plan out the program for 5 days. The proposed dates are 18-22nd January 2016. This meeting will be held in Bernaganam, Kerala. The host will be st. Joseph Province.

This chapter is going to be historical one as it is being conducted for the first time. All the provincials and their councilors and the delegates only. The entire General council would be present for this chapter. The agenda will focus on how to face the challenges of the future and how to make vibrant our charism in India.

CCMSI too has appointed a commission to prepare the event. i will be meeting them in July in order to chalk out the modalities. The general council will prepare the program in consultation with CCMSI.

This chapter of Mats will be a precious moment of renewal in India. It will also guide towards renewing the flame of our capuchin charism. We have human resources and young friars but not used to their capacity. There is a great potentiality in India for fraternal collaboration but CCMSI needs To think of the Order rather than only of the province
