Thank You - a magic word

The Provincial council of st. Francis Province, Kerala....India....after the meeting ....full of smiles...good things and good tidings
This evening we visited a water fall here in Kerala. The water fall is very famous and popular. It is called Athirapilly in the district of Trichur. Here a latest Bollywood movie is shot and it is very popular in India. It is epic revolving around the old kings. We reached to this place very late. It is in the heart of the forest and by evening 5pm no one is allowed to visit the water fall due to the wild animals coming out from the forest. It is a thick forest and by 6pm it is pitch dark here and for security reasons they officials don't allow any one to enter into the zone. When we reached we made a request to the officials and they were not willing first and then we said that due to traffic we got delayed and it may not be possible to return again. They were kind and sympathetic.

They granted us only five minutes to have a look at the water fall. We gladly accepted the offer with a song of thanksgiving in our hearts. We quickly visited and as per the instructions returned within five minutes. We said that we should not return to the vehicle without first having expressed our gratitude. We four of us went and expressed our gratitude by saying "THANK YOU SIR". The words brought smiles on the faces of the officials and workers around.

They looked very tired after a days hard work. Our "THANK YOU" took their blues away. We saw smiles on their faces. They were so happy to receive this token of gratitude. I am sure that not many we do this. We tend to take their services for granted. It is a magical word which has tremendous power within it. This magical word can bring about healing and restore relationships. It can lift up some one's drooping spirit.

This is a famous waterfall in Arithappallyi in Kerala

Father of one of the friars....and his grandson.....

I did experience a wonderful hospitality and fraternal welcome in all the provinces. My first attitude was to say a big "THANK YOU" to all the friars. Some of them would not accept it. They say that it is their duty to serve the general councilor. I would say that to express my gratitude towards is the moral obligation. I saw many friars blushing with a million dollar smiles. Let us learn to thank one another.....it is a very good habit to cultivate....how many people take granted our services and charity...we don't deserve but the Lord deserves it.....we also forget to thank the Lord for his manifold blessings upon us.....we need to thank the Lord for the Creation....the trees....forests...animals....this waterfall.....which not only gives us happiness and calms our persons....but reminds us that the Water is the source of life.....the Lord is the Living water....let us drink and be quenched for ever....but let us thank Lord....use the magic word to all THANK YOU.....the persons could be our cooks, workers in the garden....milk man....peon....paperboy....teachers....sacristans....donors ....benefactors....a long list.....THANK YOU
