Shanti Niwas, Cuncolim, Goa


This friary is in existence since 2001....it is a house of prayer, apostolate and formation. There are people who come throughout the day for confessions and spiritual guidance and counseling. The friars also look after a small chapel which is given for their care.....the people come every day for the Mass to our friary.....there are more than 50 people who attend the Eucharist and they are very generous towards our friars.....the friars go round to help the neighboring parish priests, preach retreats and novenas....great ministry...
 The friars are cooking sometimes ....the cook when she does not come the friars get into the kitchen and prepare lovely Goan dishes......i was lucky to taste some of them...

Br. Andrew likes Papayas....since his formation....we used to work together in the fruit Garden.....i would be shaking the Papayas tree, huge ones....Andrew would stand underneath to catch them.....he has licentiate in Catechesis.....he goes around for classes....he is a charismatic preacher too... 
 Br. Nichalau.....is a simple friar....works in the garden....lover of animals....he comes an agrarian family.....goes around for preaching......he is a good cook too...

 Br. Alvito, Guardian of the house....he has a double MA in Pastoral Counseling from Fordham University, USA.....he goes round for counseling....
