2nd Week of the General Council

The second week of the council began yesterday with many points on the agenda.....the morning was dedicated to some of the chapter reports and visitations. In the afternoon some of the commissions reports were taken up discussion. The commissions do a wonderful job. They are given a tough job to study a difficult situations which they do it with expertise. We have had many commissions when there has been a tricky problem which the council is not able to tackle or decide on....we had nominated a commission who never gave us a chance to criticise them but allowed us to appreciate them for the dedication and commitment that they have shown through their work.

Life is a long straight road leading to a secure destination if all the rule of the street are followed....it applies to our capuchin life....if we all follow the rule and constitutions we may not have problems and difficulties that we are experiencing in our brotherhood.....

Individualism is on the rise....it is due to concentration on the self and freedom.....it is destroying our communion and community....

Rome is ever new....the places are same.....buildings are same....then what it attracts is its beauty which is ever new.....when we can attract one another if we are aware of our inner beauty as men chosen and consecrated by God...

These structures are standing as mute witnesses of the history and culture....witness of men and women of commitment.....can we leave a legacy for our next generation of capuchins to look, admire and imitate...
