Shanti Nilayam, Mills coloney, Warangal, Telangana

This is the first friary of the Capuchins in Andhra Pradesh. It has a history of 50 years....this place was outside the city of Warangal......there was a mill but today it does not exit....the place is very much developed. But the poor ones are still poor. The friars came to look after the Catholics spread out in 7 villages. They put up this structure with a Church.....it also served as a minor seminary in the initial years.....Today the friars have an English medium school with just 300 students....the number is less because there are many schools in the vicinity.....the government this year onwards has started `english medium schools all over the state.....the poor who cannot pay the fees have withdrawn their wards and admitted them into the government school.....the friars also have a lot of pastoral ministry....week ends they have to go

This is an old school building of Telegu medium...which is given to the sisters who run today the school...
 The friary and the Church

The fraternity here.....of four friars....one is parish priest, the Guardian and headmaster, one is assistant parish priest and one post novice

There are 300 children upto 10th Class.....its a small number compared to other schools.....the people around here are poor and cannot afford to pay....

Children conduct the assembly where the children pray, sing the national anthem and read the headlines of the day......

Br. Arogayam.....introducing me to the children....
