Contemplation is for all

  1. The awareness of the indwelling Divine Presence is the birthright of all Christians.
  2. It’s a natural development of the grace of baptism, a normal evolution of a genuine spiritual life and hence open to all Christians.
  3. So, it’s normal to be a contemplative; it’s just need to be cultivated.
  4. What distinguishes us most from the rest of visible creation is our capacity for the transcendent. It is what makes us human.
  5. And we all need this repeated experience of interior silence in order to be fully human.
  6. The more we journey towards the still and silent depths of our hearts/our inner being/the centre, the closer we are both to God and to each other.
  7. The problem of feeling isolated from both God and others is overcome in the experience of the heart/the inner being/centre.
  8. Communion with God is not something we are trying to acquire. God is already the ground of our being. It is a question of realizing this in our lives.
  9. “Communion is the nature of ultimate reality.”
